Nancy Deal is a studio jeweler living in Portland, Oregon who has been designing and handcrafting wearable ornament for 30 years.
Nancy applies traditional metalsmithing techniques such as sawing, forging, and forming to materials including wire, sheet and precious metals as well as non-metal resources. Recent special projects include Armor, a new body of work focused on fashion and ornament that respond to a heightened need for self-protection in our current political and cultural climate, commissioned by the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events.
